Launch of the 4YFN x UNDP Women Innovators Programme in the Arab States
4YFN and UNDP are joining forces to support women start-up entrepreneurs based in the Arab region who are using technological solutions to advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

With this collaboration, UNDP and 4YFN aim to support women in tech in the Arab region. While innovative, women-led start-ups are becoming more common in the region, women face significant barriers to entrepreneurship, such as lack of access to finance and discriminatory gender norms. Among the barriers is also a lack of business-relevant social networks and mentorship opportunities, which this programme seeks to address.

UNDP has selected 20 early stage start-ups led by women that will be provided new tools to develop and grow their projects, including practical guidance, meaningful connections, and industry insights. 35 industry experts, serial entrepreneurs, and investors from the 4YFN Global tech community have been engaged as mentors.

Join us for the launch event on Wednesday 7th April at 12:00 - 12:50 Central European Time!

- Opening Remarks by Jennifer Colville (Innovation Team Lead, UNDP Regional Hub for the Arab States) and Pere Duran (4YFN Director)

- Discussion on the state of women founders in the Arab region, featuring Kawtar Zerouali (Innovation Specialist, UNDP Regional Hub for the Arab States).

- Presentation of the selected start-ups.
