From Recovery to Transformation: High-Level Launch of the UNDP/UN Women COVID-19 Global Gender Response Tracker
Interpretation available in Spanish, French and Arabic

Despite the substantive contributions of women to address the COVID-19 crisis and recovery, the pandemic is exacerbating gender inequalities, with disparities seen in health, education, economic security, the digital divide, and more. These inequalities are fueled by deeply entrenched social norms and unequal power relations. Governments have taken unprecedented measures to respond to the crisis, and many have championed innovative measures to contribute to gender-responsive recovery, as well as to go beyond recovery and ‘build back better’ societies and economies for all.

The COVID-19 Global Gender Response Tracker is the only tool currently available that assesses the gender sensitivity of national policy measures to respond to the crisis. At this launch event, UNDP and UN Women will share trends and analysis from the new tracker and discuss the way forward for gender-responsive COVID-19 recovery in a high-level panel with government representatives, academia and civil society.
