Accelerating Green Finance in North Macedonia: Introducing the Green Financing Facility
Green Finance Facility, a new innovative financial vehicle to stimulate private and residential sector investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency in North Macedonia is in the final stages of design, as the outcome of one of the 12 pipeline projects currently considered by the Joint SDG Fund for funding.

The Green Financing Facility (GFF) that would be implemented by a team of UN agencies – UNDP, IOM, and UNECE – in partnership with EBRD is envisaged to augment the budding green finance landscape in the country and become an important part of the efforts of the Government of North Macedonia to accelerate green development. The event aims to highlight the GFF as well as the overall efforts of the government to advance the green agenda and green financing in the country. Mr. Fatmir Bytyqi, Deputy Prime Minister of Economic Affairs, Mr. Dushko Uzunoski, Permanent Representative of North Macedonia in New York, a.i., Ms. Rossana Dudziak, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in North Macedonia, and Ms. Lisa Kurbiel, the Joint SDG Fund have the pleasure to invite you to this 1.5-hour event on Monday, October 4 from 15.30 to 17.00 CET.
